A busy week

I just wanted to say it has been an excellent week working in Acton. I have had the chance to speak to so many of you and hopefully assure you that the Met are listening and we do care about your quality of life.

We appear to have made some progress with one housing provider around gates and security in Billington Mews, and we have had a very constructive meeting with those impacted by the issues outside Emmaus House.

I have located the gate that is the root to the problems for those living at 27 Kings Street- please see attached photo of me re-enacting my surprise at being shown the actual door which was right next to the door I was guarding… Luckily being intelligent is not a requirement for being a police officer.

We have made some progress too with our street drinkers, who have now got a new spokesman who is more open to my arguments and more reasonable in response. Hopefully this will aid the situation.

We do speak to our residents who live on the streets, who buy the drugs and who drink to oblivion. They are able to understand the negative impact they have on our community for the most part. We will keep this up, but for now I hope you all have the peaceful weekend you deserve.
